CALL TO THE XII CONFERENCE

The XII International Conference of Economists on Globalization and Development Problems continues being the exceptional space for the debate on the most pressing dilemmas of the world economy. The Economic Global Crisis, its structural causes, the ways it is expressed, its interrelations and its possible solutions examined, comes again to the agenda of the Conference a short period of time after its outbreak.

This gathering of economists, sociologists, political scientists, lawyers, writers, journalists, officials of regional and international bodies, entrepreneurs, cooperatives, and leaders of political forces and social movements coming from different schools of thought and from all the regions of the world geography, becomes a focus of the world attention. Its strength lies in the fact that the science is built on the sound bases of ideological, political and practical positions that favor the path towards a prospective notion of development, grounded in the paradigm that studies and actions must be used to tranform the present with a view to reaching a long-for feasible future.

Nine Nobel Prize for Economics, two Nobel Prize for Peace laureates and seven Chiefs of State, have honored us with their presence in the eleven previous events. The diversity, amount, and quality of the participations increase year after year. The Set of Topics is every time more complex and challenging. The XII Conference will take place from March 1st to 5th, 2010 at Palacio de Convenciones (Conference Center) in Havana City.

The Organizing Committee of the Conference guarantees an optimun space for reflection and debate and is ready to provide you with the hospitality and joy that characterize the Cuban people.
